カナカナ
Set in an old machiya house, Kanakana retains its Edo atmosphere, with retro light fittings, sliding screens and a mix of tatami and table seating. Very popular with arty twenty-somethings, expect a long wait if you arrive right at lunchtime; getting there before noon or after 2pm should help you secure a table. The lunch sets are generous, reasonably priced and organic, with many vegetable-based side dishes. The menu is quite vegetarian friendly, but be aware that most of the soups are made with dashi (fish stock). They also have a wide range of cakes and teas, and a variety of art books for sale or browsing, making it a good afternoon tea spot.
