Visit Nara

This neat backpacker’s hostel in a Meiji-era house is just a few minutes walk from JR Nara Station, making it a good base for sightseeing. There is a mix of dorm rooms with bunk beds and one private room for up to two people. The lobby lounge is comfortable and spacious, with a library of books in many languages, plus pamphlets and guidebooks. They also operate a small cafe offering tea, coffee and beers, with discounts for guests. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and can speak English. If you prefer a private room, it’s worth checking out their new annex, close to Kintetsu Nara Station; all rooms are small but private.
