This is a medium sized ryokan run by the Kato family, with a friendly “at home” atmosphere. Less than five minutes' walk from the cable car station, it is convenient for visiting the main sites around Yoshinoyama. Mrs. Kato can also help organize activities including making washi paper at Fukunishi Washi Honpo, or making your own cedar wood chopsticks at a local workshop. While they only speak a little English, there is a useful English guide in each room explaining the area and giving information such as how to bathe in the indoor and outdoor onsen. Many of the decorations and furnishings around the inn are handmade and the meals use local produce.
