Koryo-cho in Katsuragi has been known as a socks town since 1820, when Yamato cotton was grown in the area and the cotton mill was the main employer. They still make fine-spun organic cotton socks in the town, along with knitwear and baby clothes, which are sold at this charming boutique in Naramachi.
